Naked Truth

Well if you haven’t already started, you are probably on your way to that New Year’s weight loss plan. It can be very tough with so many options and variation on the pursuit to weight loss.

There is one weight loss option that I am pretty confident that you would want to skip over. This product has been in production since the early 80’s and since inception has increased in popularity.

Acquired and rebranded under Pepsi “naked juice” is a premium drink that has made claims to be “100% juice” “all natural” and “non-gmo (genetically modified organisms)”.

Yet, unneeded scientific data has proven these drinks are just not what they are all cracked up to be. In these drinks you have high sugar amounts, 23 grams per 8oz bottle to be exact. That is more than an 8oz bottle of ginger ale. At least ginger ale settles your stomach; this stuff can’t even do that!

These “naked juice” drinks also make the claims that they do not use genetically modified organisms. In a class action lawsuit it is actually stated that they use a genetically altered soy product making that claim untrue. It’s just another smoke and mirror tactic that was used to deceive many of their customers.

Now I am not a negative individual so I was wondering if there was at least one claim made by the naked juice product that was somewhat true.

The fruit claim was somewhat making them appear honest about their product. It wasn’t until I did more research and realized that all fruit/vegetables have to go through pasteurization just like milk products. With that process you will lose nutrients.

How much? Only God knows.

The claim of 100% natural fruits may be true, yet you are far from receiving 100% of those fruits. Look, naked juice is probably not anymore harmful than the next fruit juice product. The problem is you will be receiving very little return on your investment. There are definitely better ways to stay hydrated. Till next time….
