Is It Really Worth The Money?

Now, as I know and I am sure you know, large fitness equipment is not only meant for gyms but can also be purchased by a home owner. This concept is not bad at all; bringing the gym to you in the comfort of your own home was and is a solid concept. The problem with in-home fitness centers is that “is it really worth the money”?

Many people will buy a fitness center not realizing that it’s harder to be motivated to exercise when the equipment is more readily available. It becomes very easy to blow off an exercise when you can do the workout later (since there is no opening and closing time) in the day. Yet, that workout you were going to do later is pushed to the next day, and the day after that etc.

Next thing you know, you haven’t used your home gym in months and begin to wonder why you spent $2,000 on something you only used twice! Before you buy yourself an in home fitness center think about this; is this fitness center going to be supplemental? Am I motivated enough to exercise at home? I believe unless you have a personal trainer (Tom) coming to your house to train you, a fitness center isn’t going to be supplemental to a gym membership.

In one month of having your in home gym, you will probably be bored because it’s the same four machines with limited exercises! So you have to ask, are you motivated enough to use the same four machines again and again? I personally find it tough to only exercise at home because there is no one there to try to stay ahead or surpass in lifting. Also, at a gym there are multiple machines to work out the same muscle group which creates variation.

Look, an in home fitness center is limited on what it can do, just make sure you weigh out all other options before you spend a couple grand on a product you will only use a couple times a year.
