Celebrities are paid a lot of money to play a particular role in a film. No matter what, they must get into the condition that is necessary for the character they are portraying on the big screen. They may promote that they went on a special diet or took a supplement to get in this type of shape, but most of them are just endorsing a new product or diet. Remember, they make money on this type of advertising as well, and having a celebrity promote your product is a pretty sure-fire way to sell massive quantities. Believe it or not, many of these actors and actresses are actually taking some form of steroids in order to get in this type of condition in such as short period of time. Now, this is just an assumption, but Christian Bale had to lose a massive amount of weight for a movie called “The Machinist.” If you saw the movie, you would see the insane body transformation of Christian Bale. He got down to a measly 120 pounds for the role. He looked practically anorexic with his ribs popping through his skin! A few months later, he had to prepare for the role of “Batman.” Christian Bale gained enough weight to get up to a lean 230 pounds, and then dropped down to 190 for the role of Batman. To my understanding of the human body, it isn’t capable of putting on that much lean muscle mass in such a short period of time without chemical enhancement, but what do you expect when these actors/actresses are getting paid millions of dollars to play these roles?
The moral of this story is most of the celebrities that we admire have these amazing physiques due to the money they have, the inside connections they have, and the photo-shopping that’s available. If a celebrity is going to portray a superhero, then they need to look like a superhero. Not all celebrities have taken steroids, and probably a large percentage doesn’t, but it’s not uncommon for a celebrity to take an artificial supplement while preparing for a specific role. If you were getting paid the amount of money they are, what would you do? It’s important not to strive for the physique of what you see on the television because most of the time it’s unrealistic. Focus on being the best “YOU” possible and your potential will be unlimited. After all, we are all special in our own way!
